Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a the morning news anchor as well as a crime reporter for WCBD-TV. In Charleston O'Dell's stories regarding the police's lenient approach to DUI cases resulted in a State Law Enforcement Division investigation which resulted in the states authorities again releasing the strictest guidelines regarding the instances. Ms. O'Dell won the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell's experience in Charleston led her to serve as co-anchor, investigative report and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to joining Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as the weekend anchor for NBC. In addition, she serves as co-anchor for Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She's reported on major events like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards, as well co-hosting Pre ShowArrivals shows at The Emmys. She hosted both the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
